Caring for your towel clips
If you have purchased or are considering purchasing some of our towel clips, we want you to get the most out of our products, which is why we have put our towel clips to the test in the home and compiled this list of guidelines for you:
Care instructions
- We recommend you only hang one item per towel clip.
- Be mindful of where you hang your towel clip. Smooth round edged hooks or handles, cupboard door knobs are ideal. However, if you hang your towel clip from a hook with a sharp edge, be aware that this may wear away and eventually cut through the towel clip cord. The heavier the item you are hanging, the quicker the cord will wear out.
While your towel clip will hang a really thick towel, the clip clasp will need to widen to accommodate it. If you hang a thick material item for a period of time, this may permanently widen the towel clip and mean it is less effective for hanging items made from thinner material (e.g. tea towels).
As wood is a porous material, your should try to minimise your towel clip(s) exposure to damp air and moisture. Do not soak.
What your towel clip will hold
- A single towel clip will hold one bath towel, one bath sheet or one bathrobe - these items can be dry or damp (post-bath/shower).
- We do not advise using your towel clip to hang a freshly-washed towel (i.e. after washing machine spin cycle). Not only may this damage the towel clip, but you may stretch the edge of the towel by hanging it from a single point.
- Do not use your towel clip to hang a soaking wet towel as the weight of this is likely to break the cord or damage the clip.
- Your towel clip will easily hold small and light items such as tea towels, hand towels, pairs of gloves or socks.
Towel clip strength
- The Lintunen bird-shaped and round towel clips have a slightly more robust design than the Kukka flower and Hirvonen moose-shaped towel clips.
